Practical Tips
A few practical tips if you are new to Rodeo Bible Camp. Prepare for any kind of weather – come rain or shine! We’ve had both – sometimes to extremes! A few items you might consider: rain gear, warm coats, sunscreen, hats, flashlights, sleeping bag, extra blankets.
Women Adult Leaders: We will be staying in the Exhibition Hall. That means lights and outlets. Feel free to bring power strips for extra outlets and mirrors if need be. Items you will need: Cot or air mattress, or pad. Sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, towel and wash cloth.
Men Adult Leaders: You will be sleeping in the Sale Barn with bathrooms and electricity. You will need a cot, pad or air mattress, sleeping bag and pillow. Also, towel, wash cloth, flashlight.
Showers: Women Adult Leaders will use the showers inside the Exhibition Hall. Men will use the portable shower trailer on the grounds. Since large numbers of campers cannot access the showers at the same time, leaders should choose their personal shower time wisely.
Food: Food is provided and plenty of it. Jugs of water and other beverages are always available during the day for the duration of camp, outside the kitchen.
Group Bible Studies: Plan to lead a 45-minute group Bible study/devotional each day at the times designated on the schedule. A suggested study that relates to the camp theme will be provided. Our main goal is to introduce campers to Christ and basic Biblical principles. Focus should not be on a denomination, but on repentance and the acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
We encourage you to spend as much time with your campers as possible. We request that every adult leader spends one-on-one time with each camper to answer questions they may have. Take the time to watch campers in their clinics, and sit with them at meal times as much as possible. All of your campers must sit together, WITH YOU during chapel.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE CAMPERS ARE AT ALL TIMES.
We do have a dress code for campers and the same will be required of you. Please see the copy of the Dress Code and Rules Statement which is also here on our website. In addition, there are rules for all campers.
If you bring a horse, be aware, there is little stall space. And most importantly, we appreciate that the horse be ridden as a means to minister and spend time with your campers.
Rodeo
We encourage and welcome arena help. If you would like to help in the arena, please wear a western hat, boots, and long-sleeved shirt.
Again, thank you for your desire to serve the Lord by impacting young cowboys and cowgirls for Christ. We look forward to seeing you!
